The "vie ferrate" (literally :"iron paths")are specially equipped routes which have fixed protections to help travellers in moving safely through the mountains. Travelling on a via ferrata is a different way of enjoying the sheer magnificence of the Dolomites and other mountains. Differently from rock climbing there’s no need to learn how to use snap-hooks, ropes, knots, etc, the via ferratas offer the chance to access the incredible scenery that only rock climbers and mountaineers usually enjoy while only using a simple safety KIT; harness and helmet.
